Serbco launches in SA
Serbco Distributors, a specialist supplier of innovative, high-quality, and cost-effective plumbing pipes and fittings, has recently launched in South Africa. The company, which holds the sole rights to distribute products from Serbian manufacturers to Africa, has commenced operations locally, offering speciality products from three companies: Peštan, Tehnoexport Texo, and RPC Pešovic. All Serbco products conform to the highest European specifications and certification possible, and have been developed in ISO 9001 rated factories, with environmental concerns as a major design consideration.
History
Serbco Distributors is the resulting partnership between Serbian-born Jacko Bjelic and respected golf course and property developer, Dirk Els. Bjelic realised that the everincreasing cost and theft of copper plumbing presented a substantial commercial opportunity and formed Serbco to bring the Pestan PPR piping system to South Africa. Teaming up with Bjelic, Els saw the potential of this and other related products for his developments and after a visit to Serbia, they decided to acquire the sole distribution rights.
Peštan Peštan produce a wide array of PVC, Polyethylene, and Polypropylene products at their ISO 9001 rated factory in Serbia. These include water supply, drainage and gas pipes and fittings, telecommunications and cable protection pipes, and double layer corrugated drainage pipes. All Peštan products meet strict European standards.
• Pestan Green PPR Pipes:
Peštan’s signature product, Pestan Green has been specifically designed to enable the flow of clean hot and cold water. The pipes and fittings, available in sizes from 20mm to 110mm and in pressure classes from 10 to 25 bar, are manufactured from PPR-Random type three raw material from Borealis, a global supplier to the piping industry. The system meets German and Serbian health standards, and has recently completed and passed SABS testing to SANS ISO 15874. Clients are encouraged to visit the company’s website at www.serbco.co.za to see the latest SABS Test Reports, as well as confirmation of JASWIC acceptance. Advantages of the
Pestan Green PP-R pipes and fittings include: high thermal and sound isolation capability, low pressure losses, energy saving ability, great welding ability, and light weight for easier transport and handling.
• Technoexport Texo
Tehnoexport Texo manufactures a wide range of sanitary products such as flexible waste traps and components for various applications and toilet pan connections. Even a flexi–pipe chimney has also been developed!
• Flexible Waste Traps:
The range of flexible waste traps produced by Tehnoexport Texo has been designed for
use within a variety of sanitary and drainage systems including sinks, wash basins, dishwashing machines, washing machines, bathtubs, and showers. All of the waste traps come standard with a flexible PVC pipe with a smooth interior, raised spiral exterior and stainless steel strainer with specific adaptations for each drainage system.
The product is completely leak-proof, quick and easy to install, and easy to maintain. In addition, the waste traps can withstand standard cleaning products and disinfectants.
RPC Pešovic
A highly specialised manufacturing concern, RPC Pešovic, invents, develops, and produces taps, water fixtures, and fasteners. The revolutionary Stefani Water Heater is the latest addition to the manufacturer’s repertoire of water conservation products. The company is
also a practical research laboratory that has developed advanced molding technology that is set to revolutionise the manufacturing industry. The award-winning company prides itself on its creative vision and technical ability to produce, manufacture, and supply that vision.
• Taps:
RPC Pešovic’s Aquatica® taps are the world’s first non-metallic, recyclable sanitary fixtures. The taps are completely free of heavy metals such as nickel, zinc, chromium, tin, and lead, which have conclusively proven to cause cancer and other health problems. The company’s patented products are made from microbiologically pure certified materials and as a result, provide a number of safety, environmental, and structural benefits at an affordable price.
• Axi Stop Valves:
RPC Pešovic is committed to developing water conservation solutions. One of these is the Axi Stop Valve, which reduces the flow of water to 9.5 liters per minute. The one-touch on/off button, which can fit all standard ½” shower heads or hand-held showers, allows the user to switch water on and off or reduce water volume in order to save water and energy.
• The Stefani Water Heater:
It was with South Africa’s energy crisis in mind, coupled with the desire to aid the environment, that RPC Pešovic designed the Stefani Water Heater. The mini water heater instantly heats water as it flows through the unit, thereby reducing energy and water - saving up to 62% on electricity and 43% of water. With traditional water heating systems, hot water has to travel a long distance through a series of pipes resulting in a large amount of energy being wasted as the heat dissipates once the required amount of water has been used, and the residual heated water is stored. In addition, water is often wasted whilst consumers wait for it to run hot.
The Stefani Water Heater saves up to 3.2 litres of water with each use since water is heated immediately at the tap and has an economic flow rate.
Serbco Distributors CEO, Dirk Els says: “We are thrilled to be launching Serbco Distributors in South Africa. We feel that we can offer ordinary South Africans world-class products that will not only help save them money, but the environment too. The move towards green building is on the rise in South Africa, and we are proud and excited to be a part of this. Our three sub-companies are constantly striving to bring out new and innovative products to make everyday life a little easier for our customers and end-users.”
